Happy New Year

Another year has come and gone...feels like they are flying by faster and faster as they go. Year 2010 has been a little bit of everything for us here at COASTAL CHARM...good and bad! The bad things were the BP OIL SPILL in April (thought this one was going to do me in)...then the BIG one hit us...Mr.CC was robbed at gunpoint in July by two young guys...now this one really changed our lives...we are very blessed that they did not shoot him! Now for the good things that happened...our AUBURN TIGERS are 13-0...#1 and playing in the BCS National Championship Game on the 10th...what an awesome season we have had...WAR EAGLE!!!! I have saved the best for last...our daughter Haley got engaged on Dec.11 to a wonderful young man and we are both thrilled to death for her...the BIG DAY is July 23...so it looks like 2011 will be a year filled with wedding plans...lots of parties and then the WEDDING...I'm sooooo excited! Hoping that your 2011 will be filled with wonderful things also...HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of y'all!!!!
                                                                     Blessings,
                                                                       Linda

Lovin' my new frame...picked it up at 50% off at a great little gift shop this week.
HAPPY NEW YEAR from my family to yours!

Exciting Week Ahead Of Me

The big day has come and gone...hope all of y'all had a wonderful Christmas holiday with your family and friends...I sure did! Lots of great memories were made...some are a little SAD for Mr.CC and I because this Christmas was the last one that our FIRST BORN CHILD will be here for us to wake up and have the morning together...just the four of us. We are very excited for her and the new life that she will be sharing with the love of her life, but as parents it's still hard to see her go...just can't imagine the amount of tears that this mama will shed...HAPPY and SAD all at the same time! This week is full of appointments at bridal shops, looking for that perfect dress...please wish us some luck, as we shop for a size 0P...yes Haley is a tiny one! Monday-Wednesday we will in town shopping, then we will be in Birmingham on Thursday...have three appointments that day...then one on Friday morning...after that we will heading up to Nashville for a few days of family time together...this will probably be our last FAMILY vacation, with just the four of us...yes...another LAST thing to add to the list. Let's not forget that there will NOT be a NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS PARTY this week...with that said...please be sure to come on back next week with all your goodies! I don't think I will have much time to  do any blogging this week with this schedule that we have and that makes me sad, but please know that I will miss you gals! Now looking on the bright side...when I get back, I will have a ton of pics to share with all of y'all.
Take care and I hope y'all come on back
                                                                             real soon,
                                                                               Linda

I have been looking forward to these FUN days
of shopping with my Haley for years and
now that time is HERE...just can't
                                                                   wait to get started!!!

Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas

Here we are on Christmas Eve...everyone is finishing up wrapping all their last minute gifts...cooking up a storm...watching a favorite Christmas movie with their families and best of all...some of us will be attending candlelight services at our churches and celebrating the real reason for the season...THE BIRTH OF JESUS! My family will be attending our candlelight services tonight and I can say that this is our favorite tradition...one that I hope and pray will always continue on. Thank you for coming by on this special day and I wish you and your family a blessed Merry Christmas!
                                                                      Blessings,
                                                                        Linda

My VINTAGE Christmas tree in the kitchen...it holds
so many wonderful memories for Mr.CC
                                                                     from his childhood.

In just a few hours these packages will be all torn
into and I hoping my family will love
                                                                    what's inside!

Looking forward to hearing what all of y'all
                                                                          got too!

This Little Fella Has Been So Good To Us This Year

This has been a wonderful holiday season for all of us here at COASTAL CHARM. First good thing that happened around here was Mr.CC and I got the opportunity to go to the SEC championship game in Atlanta to watch our AUBURN TIGERS play...WON that game...56-17! We are now #1 in the country and playing in the national championship game on Jan.10...so we are ALL IN around here and enjoying all our AUBURN CHRISTMAS DECOR. The next thing that happened was our sweet daughter Haley got engaged on Dec.11...we are very happy for her and VERY BUSY making all the plans for her special day.
Hoping that Santa will be good to all of you too!
                                                                           Linda

I will be sharing some THRIFTY TREASURES in my foyer with you today, so take a look and then link up your THRIFTY TREASURES and lets get down and PARTY! I would like to wish each and every one of you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! PLEASE NOTE...there will NOT be a NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS PARTY next week, so we can all enjoy our time with our families and friends...with that being said...come on back next year (1/4/2011) for the next NTT. Now don't think that I will be MIA until the 4th, because I will be posting and visiting around...just not hosting my weekly NTT party.

The tall tree was found at a garage sale for only $2!!!!
This smaller one came from a great gift shop in Marietta, GA.
and it was 50% off. The white ironstone bowl was found
at a garage sale...if my memory serves me right...think
                                                                          it was $2!!!
The green wreath came from IKEA and I just wired to
a grapevine wreath that has been around
                                                                       for years now!

Vintage "ATLAS" jar...is a goodie from my
                                                       shopping days at Canton...boy I
sure do miss those buying trips!

Playing In The Dining Room

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend...can you believe it's the last weekend before Christmas day? Where has this month gone? I'm so far behind, but I'm trying really hard to catch up. Today I'm going to be wrapping gifts (just getting started) and cleaning house...it sure needs some TLC! I thought I would share with you today my formal tree in the dining room...I always love doing a little something different to her each year and so take a look at what I did this year. Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to stop by for a visit...I always love hearing from all of y'all.
                                               Hope y'all come back...real soon,
                                                                       Linda
Here she is and boy she sure does look different this year
in her new room! New wall color...new floors...new drapes
and located in a new spot...I hope she
likes her new home...I sure do!
Mary Claire wanted to know who that baby was in the frame...can't believe she
didn't know who it was...just kidding! This frame was my MIL"s and that
pic came with this pretty silver frame back in the 50"s. Looks
like I need to get busy and replace it with a FAMILY PIC!
I used some new green ribbon...love this shade!
Only used these pretty candle lights on this tree...I think I really like the look!
Drummer Boy ornament also from my MIL and a MARDI GRAS ornament...you know
                                                            we love our Mardi Gras!
Looking around the room and playing with my new camera!

Looking forward to taking the class on how to use my new REBEL,
but for now, it's just fun playing!

Christmas Open House Part 2

Welcome to my Christmas Open House...I'm so very happy that you are here...please excuse me for not having any yummy treats and some warm hot chocolate to serve you on this COLD winter day...silly me forgot! I have been so busy the past few days making weddings plans with my daughter, that I almost forgot about my own PARTY...how crazy is that? Well if you have ever planned a wedding then you know where I'm coming from...so many decisions need to be made ASAP...I have spent most of today making phone calls to photographers and reception sites. I have only purchased about 20% of the Christmas gifts that I need to get...don't have one gift wrapped and under the tree...this is so very strange for me...well I guess Christmas is going to be a little bit different for us this year, but it's all worth it! If you came by my NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS PARTY...THANK YOU...I'm so sorry that I have not been able to visit all of you...I sure hope you understand...hoping to steal some time this weekend for blogging...so if you see that I came by at 1:00am, don't be surprise. Mr.CC bought me a Christmas gift on BLACK FRIDAY and it came in today and I have been so busy, that I haven't had one minute to check it out. Want to know what it is? It's a Canon Rebel XS...yes I got a new camera...I sooooo needed one! Mary Claire loves photography, so she had a fun time playing around with it tonight. I will be sharing with you some of the pics that she made and some that I made last week with my other camera...I'm sure that you will be able to tell which ones were made with my REBEL. I can't wait till I have some free time so I can play with my own new toy, but until then I will let my baby girl have some fun! So now let's all open our doors and go mingle about...I'm sure you will be inspired with all the beautiful decor that you will see here, because I have some really talented friends that love to share their ideas here in blogland.
                                                         Hope y'all come back...real soon,
                                                                            Linda
                                                            Welcome and come on in!

This is the first time in twenty or more years, that I didn't have wreaths on my
windows...decided to go with a different look...I just added some
red and silver balls, then added a big red bow to my
window boxes...it's all about trying something new
                                                                         this year!

Here we are in the daytime!
Now don't look too close...you just might find me with NO make-up on
and that's not a pretty picture!
                                                               Simple and different!

                                               Gotta have some "COASTAL" touches!
                                                                     Our family tree!
Thinking if I have the time after Christmas that I'm going
to purchase a new family tree...this one is
                                                          really old...maybe my daughter
and my future SIL will want this one!
Isn't he the cutest thing ever? Mr.CC gave me about a dozen
of these adorable lighted bears years ago and
it's just not Christmas at our
                                                                      house without them!

Last week I shared some of my "BILLY BUTTONS"
with you and this week, I'm sharing some of my
                                                         BB ornaments...I just love these
                                                                          little fellas!

He is the oldest of my crew!

I will be adding some of these cuties to the
                                                      outside of packages...always love
giving a little ornament with my
                                                                            gifts!

                                                     Peppermint "BILLY BUTTONS"!

She had so much fun playing with mom's
                                                                          new toy!
THANK YOU SWEETHEART...your mom LOVES YOU!
